The outdoors will also play a significant role at this location, the latest from Carlos Suarez’s Casa Nela group. Sidewalk seating for 100 overlooks a community garden that the group is helping to develop. Inside, the airy tile-accented restaurant can seat 120 in the dining room (at full capacity). A 50-seat wine bar and an intimate private dining room complete the picture. La Barbecue set to reopen in standalone building in East Austin

Austin 360 La Barbecue has always been on the move, making some of the city s best barbecue from a couple of well-loved spots. LeAnn Mueller, granddaughter of famed pitmaster Louie Mueller, and wife Ali Clem launched the trailer on South First Street in 2011, and moved into the Quickie Pickie on Cesar Chavez in 2017. After four years of serving long lines of customers at that store, La Barbecue is moving a few blocks down into a new spot at 2401 E. Cesar Chavez St., where it will reopen on Wednesday in what Mueller calls its forever home. In the new location, they can sell wine and beer, including a recent collaboration brew with Zilker Brewing Company to create a pilsner that could act as the house beer.

Abilene police bubble over with intoxication calls And while most did, not every call involved alcohol. On Thursday night, a man was found in the 1600 block of Highway 351, parked in his car outside a business. He was found to be intoxicated, according to reports. Police said that after several unsuccessful attempts to get the man a ride, he was arrested for public intoxication and taken to Taylor County Jail. Later, police saw a woman s vehicle allegedly veer into oncoming traffic, causing another driver to have to move to the side of the road to avoid being hit.  The woman was arrested at the intersection of South 16th and Butternut streets for driving while intoxicated.

Patrick Michael Reum found dead in Rock River in Lee County

Reum’s body was spotted in the river south of Lowell Park at about 8 p.m.  “With the help of dental records, we were able to confirm it was Patrick,” Lee County Coroner Jesse Partington said. “There was no sign of foul play or anything of that nature.” An autopsy was conducted Friday morning, the results of which are expected in about two months. Toxicology test results are expected back in two weeks.
