AHMEDABAD (Gujarat): Hailing Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his development-oriented vision, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who is in Gujarat for inaugurating development projects, said that PM Modi is a leader who ensures that the development work continues even after his tenure.
“I’ve seen 3 types of leaders, one who just takes part in the inauguration. Second who makes sure in their time period that development work done, and third is Narendra Modi who makes sure that after he leaves, the development work continues,” said Shah at the inauguration of the City Civic Centre at South Bopal in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad today.

Shah expressed his happiness after inaugurating other development projects including the AUDA and Western Railway project costing Rs 267 crore.

The state of Gujarat reported a total of 890 new cases on Monday (March 15). With more active cases going up with each passing day, it reported its single-highest jump in Covid cases in 2021 on Monday.
Ahmedabad, meanwhile, has contributed significantly to the active cases with 205 more positive cases. With this, the mark of 200 was crossed after a long gap of 83 days. Not only in Ahmedabad, but many other prominent cities of other major states have also seen a rise in cases as people have not been following the social distancing norms and other COVID protocols.

The health authorities in Ahmedabad are alarmed and concerned yet again as the second wave of COVID-19 grips the city. Several socities across the city are being placed under lockdown and being quarantined on a daily basis. The number of quarantined societies in Ahmedabad has now reached 48 as the officials aim to keep the situation under control.
As per a report in the Times of India, over 70% of the quarantined societies are from the western part of Ahmedabad and most of them high-end societies. Societies in areas such as Navrangpura, South Bopal and Chandkheda among others have been placed in quarantine to restrict the movement of the residents and stop the spread of the infec
