City officials and housing leaders on Tuesday took the first step toward revitalizing the southeast Dallas neighborhood by breaking ground on a $110 million redevelopment plan for 400 new homes individually priced at $200,000. A 24-year-old man was shot to death early Wednesday in east Oak Cliff, Dallas police say. Officers responded to a shooting call around 3:30 a.m. in the 1200 block of Strickland Street, near Morrell Avenue and South Denley Drive. Witnesses told police that a man shot the victim, identified as Robert Lynn Taylor, multiple times. Taylor was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. The suspect, a 37-year-old man whose name will not be released until he is booked into the Dallas County Jail, was arrested at the scene and faces a murder charge, police said.
