Springfield Police collars $17.5 million for secondaries fund
Springfield (Mo.) Police Officers & Firefighters Retirement System committed $17.5 million to Crown Secondaries Special Opportunities II.
The $548 million pension fund s board approved the commitment to the secondary private equity fund managed by
LGT Capital Partners at its Feb. 11 meeting, said Janell Manley, administrative director.
It is the pension fund s first commitment to private equity, Ms. Manley said.
As of Dec. 31, the pension fund s actual allocation to alternatives was 22.1%; the target is 34%.
Investment consultant Segal Marco Advisors assisted.

Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Police and Firefighters Retirement System is searching for an active domestic large-cap growth equity manager to run about $35 million.
The $1.1 billion pension fund is conducting the search due to the termination of Sawgrass Asset Management, which ran a similar portfolio, for performance concerns and personnel changes, said Fred Nesbitt, pension fund spokesman.
The assets are currently parked in a domestic equity index fund managed by RhumbLine Advisers, Mr. Nesbitt said. He said the pension fund hopes to make a selection in about two months.

Springfield Police & Fire to file $40 million in private credit
Springfield (Mo.) Police Officers & Firefighters Retirement System made two new private credit commitments totaling $40 million.
The $469 million pension fund s board on Oct. 8 approved commitments of $20 million each to
Entrust Global Recovery Fund and Marathon Distressed Credit Fund, managed by
Marathon Asset Management, said Janell Manley, administrative director.
As of June 30, the system s actual allocation to alternatives was 20.2%.
Investment consultant Segal Marco Advisors assisted.
