Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Police and Firefighters' Retirement System is searching for an active domestic large-cap growth equity manager to run about $35 million.
The $1.1 billion pension fund is conducting the search due to the termination of Sawgrass Asset Management, which ran a similar portfolio, for performance concerns and personnel changes, said Fred Nesbitt, pension fund spokesman.
The assets are currently parked in a domestic equity index fund managed by RhumbLine Advisers, Mr. Nesbitt said. He said the pension fund hopes to make a selection in about two months.
Brian Monroe, Sawgrass director of marketing and client service, could not be immediately reached for comment.
