After a long 16 months of being closed, the fire stations in Duluth are going to reopen to the public on August 1st. We ll have tours, school groups, other community events where we re out in the public. National Night Out is coming up. We hope to reinstitute our school programs in October, for Fire Prevention Month, shared Chief Shawn Krizaj.
He said people have been asking when they can come back. We always throw in a little bit of fire safety and fire prevention on the tours. The kids see the trucks and meet the firefighters, he added.

Sen. Cynthia Villar and Rep. Camille Villar join observance of Fire Prevention Month, cites firefigthers
In observance of the Fire Prevention Month, Sen. Cynthia Villar and Las Pinas Rep. Camille Villar, acknowledged the heroic deeds and sacrifices of our firefighters during a seminar aired LIVE on Facebook, which also offered tips to guarantee fire safety and response.
Sen. Villar and Rep. Villar cited our firemen for their dedication and selfless services, even risking their own lives while battling off fires. They have also been at the forefront in responding to other forms of emergencies, tragedies and disasters. It s difficult to lose our homes and our properties to fires especially if we lost everything. It s very hard to recover. So we should learn safety standards and preventive measures to reduce, alleviate and minimize the occurence of fires and secure our belongings and even our lives, stressed Sen. Villar.
