Man given life imprisonment for blasphemy - Newspaper

RAWALPINDI: An antiterrorism court has sentenced a man to life in prison in a blasphemy case. Accused Ibtisam Mustafa was handed down the life term for using derogatory remarks in respect of Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). He was also given 10-year imprisonment on two counts for deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings of Christians by insulting their religion and religious beliefs. Judge Shaukat Kamal Dar of the ATC in Rawalpindi sentenced him to a total of 20 years in prison under Section 295-A of Pakistan Penal Code for deliberately “outraging the religious feeling of Christian citizen[s]” by committing contempt of Prophet Jesus, and life term under Section 295-C of the PPC of “uploading pages including words and insultive poem from book” to defile the sacred name of Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Two awarded life term in kidnapping case - Newspaper

RAWALPINDI: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) of Rawalpindi on Saturday awarded life imprisonment to two persons for kidnapping a 12-year-old boy for ransom. ATC Judge Shaukat Kamal Dar convicted Allama Iqbal and Nauman Khan for kidnapping the boy Usman Khan from the vicinity of Naseer Abad police station. The FIR was registered on the complaint of Usman Khan’s mother Aneesa Bibi. She in the FIR said her son Usman went to the local market at 10am on December 16, last year but never returned. According to the FIR, she received a call from the kidnappers for ransom. However, her son managed to return home.

Man sentenced to death in kidnapping case - Newspaper

ISLAMABAD: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) of Rawalpindi sentenced to death an accused on two counts in kidnapping for ransom case. The same court also convicted three others for firing on police officials and injuring a constable. ATC Judge Shaukat Kamal Dar convicted Tajamal Hussain under section 365-A and 302 (b) of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and sentenced him to death under both these sections. Besides, the convict has been fined to the tune of Rs50,000. As per the court order, the convict has to pay Rs50,000 to the legal heirs of the deceased Mohammad Adnan who died in the kidnapping incident.
