Wrong-way driver arrested, 1 driver hurt after fiery crash on Interstate 15 in Fallbrook

FALLBROOK, Calif. (KGTV) A car burst into flames after it was struck head-on by a vehicle traveling in the wrong direction on Interstate 15 in the Fallbrook area early Friday morning.
The two-vehicle crash happened just after 4 a.m. on the northbound side of I-15 near Mission Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP said a vehicle was going southbound in the northbound fast lane when it collided with a car head-on. Moments later, the northbound vehicle caught fire.
A New York woman is facing charges in connection with a wrong-way crash in Salem.The crash happened shortly before 3 a.m. on the Exit 1 off-ramp of Interstate 93 North.State police said the car was driving in the wrong-direction when it crashed head-on into a box truck.Neither driver was seriously hurt.The driver of the car, Anne Bell, 26, was arrested on charges including DWI.

First look at new locations for wrong-way driver detecting technology
HOUSTON – Houston highways will soon get a little bit safer. KPRC 2 traffic expert Anavid Reyes got a first look at the new wrong-way driver detection system that will be going in at 16 new locations by the end of 2021.
There were almost 250 wrong-way driver crashes in Houston between 2015 and 2019, and according to The Texas Department of Transportation, the Lonestar state leads the nation in wrong-way driver crashes. The Texas Department of Transportation and Houston Transtar have been studying wrong-way crashes for years and have determined the locations that see the highest amount of these types of crashes:
