Former Lubbock Christian School president awaits sentencing in jail The former president of Lubbock Christian School will have to await his sentencing on federal child pornography charges in jail, a U.S. magistrate judge ruled recently. Larry Tye Rogers, 56, surrendered about 11 a.m. on Friday to the U.S. Marshals Service and was booked about a half-hour later into the Lubbock County Detention Center. Rogers surrendered about an hour before the deadline set by U.S. Magistrate Judge D. Gordon Bryant after determining that Rogers failed to show exceptional circumstances that would allow him to remain out on bond. Rogers faces up to 10 years in prison after he pleaded guilty in June to a count of possession of child pornography.

Hutch Haley has been named the next Lubbock Christian School President(Rockwall ISD staff website) The appointment of the new school President was after a unanimous vote on Saturday, May 1. They voted to appoint Hutch Haley, who is a Lubbock native and a 1978 graduate of Lubbock Christian Schools. He spent 17 of his 30 years in education at LCS where he was an economics teacher, head girls basketball coach, head football coach, athletic director and director of transportation.
