Former Lubbock Christian School president awaits sentencing in jail
The former president of Lubbock Christian School will have to await his sentencing on federal child pornography charges in jail, a U.S. magistrate judge ruled recently.
Larry Tye Rogers, 56, surrendered about 11 a.m. on Friday to the U.S. Marshals Service and was booked about a half-hour later into the Lubbock County Detention Center.
Rogers surrendered about an hour before the deadline set by U.S. Magistrate Judge D. Gordon Bryant after determining that Rogers failed to show exceptional circumstances that would allow him to remain out on bond.
Rogers faces up to 10 years in prison after he pleaded guilty in June to a count of possession of child pornography.
