New Delhi [India], May 11 (ANI): Delhi Police on Tuesday informed that it has so far registered 372 FIRs against Covid cheats and arrested 91 persons for the same. Delhi Police has so far registered 372 FIRs against Covid cheats, arrested 91 persons, seized 95 devices and frozen 214 bank accounts within cheated amount of Rs 53,60,000 , informed the Delhi Police in a press statement.

As the city continues to witness a surge in COVID-19 cases, the Delhi police have also seen a spike in infections in the force.
A total of 8,048 personnel have tested positive since the pandemic began.
The recovery rate, however, is impressive, as 7,706 personnel have recovered and resumed their duty. “We have lost 36 men in the fight against COVID-19. The policemen who died were carrying out their responsibilities during the fight to contain the pandemic,” said a senior police officer.
The officer added that around 36 personnel are either undergoing treatment at hospital or are under home quarantine.

New Delhi [India], February 27 (ANI): Delhi Commissioner of Police SN Shrivastava on Saturday reviewed the law and order and crime situation in the national capital.
He also reviewed the arrangements for bye-elections to 5 wards of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) - Rohini, Shalimar Bagh, Trilokpuri, Kalyanpuri and Chauhan Bangar.
By-polls in five wards of Delhi s civic body, two of which fall under the North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) and three under the East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC), will be held on Sunday.
Shrivastava directed police personnel to keep a sharp vigil on borders in view of elections and the ongoing farmers protest.
Non-traceable report to be filed, database of offenders to be deleted after CP’s order
Delhi Commissioner of Police S.N. Shrivastava on Friday said violators of COVID-19 related norms will face no action.
Over the next few days, the police will recommend the filing of non-traceable reports and deletion of the database of people who were held in violation of lockdown rules or not wearing face masks, said Mr. Shrivastava. Earlier, the Commissioner had instructed officers to take no action against migrant workers during the lockdown.
The police had taken action against nearly four lakh people since the beginning of the lockdown in March 2020 for venturing out on the streets without valid reasons, possessing no movement pass and not wearing a mask.
