Police are searching for a man who they said assaulted a 69-year-old man on Feb. 6 on Detroit’s east side. (WDIV)
DETROIT – Police are still looking for a man who they said assaulted a 69-year-old man in February on Detroit’s east side.
According to the Detroit Police Department, the incident happened at about 11:30 a.m. on Feb. 6 in the 9700 block of Harper Avenue. Police said the victim left a grocery store and walked up to a white Jeep Cherokee, thinking it belonged to the person who dropped him off.

Officials said a 20-year-old
man was shot inside a building by an unknown man. After the shooting, the victim ran outside and drove himself to a nearby hospital, police said.
He is listed as stable.

DETROIT – A Detroit man has been charged with first-degree murder and felony firearm in the death of an Uber driver in January.
According to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office, 25-year-old Carlous Skipper Jr. is accused of killing 43-year-old Yousef Al-Gabri. Prosecutors said at about 2:32 p.m. on Jan. 14, police were dispatched to the 16000 block of Wisconsin Street near Florence where they observed that an SUV had struck the front porch of the property.
Al-Gabri was transported to a local hospital and pronounced dead. Authorities determined that he died from multiple gunshot wounds.

DETROIT – The mother of a Detroit man who was shot and killed on New Year’s Eve says her son’s car was returned to her with evidence from the shooting still left inside.
David Grier, 20, was killed on New Year’s Eve when 13 bullets were shot into his car. David Grier’s mother, Temekia Grier, says there is no reason why she should have five of those casings and fragments in her possession while the investigation into her son’s murder continues.
