TROY, N.Y. â New York State Police in Brunswick recently arrested Christine M. Werneburg, 50, of Albany. Police said they stopped Werneburg as she traveled on Hoosick Street in the city of Troy, after she attempted to change lanes and almost sideswiped a patrol car.
When the trooper interviewed Werneburg they observed sign of impairment and Werneburg was administered the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. While performing the tests, Werneburg removed a glass smoking pipe from her shirt and threw it. She is also accused of attempting to ingest a small quantity of crack cocaine in an attempt to destroy the evidence.

ALBANY A new moratorium on evictions and foreclosures became law Monday, passed by both houses of the Legislature and immediately signed by Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo.
The law is crafted to extend and flesh out the existing moratorium that was put in place by the governor through executive orders earlier this year.

ALBANY State legislators could meet for a rare December session early next week to extend and strengthen New York’s eviction moratorium.
While Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo recently pledged to extend the current eviction moratorium beyond its Jan. 1 expiration, housing advocates have criticized that measure for its patchwork protection for renters in New York, and have called for a blanket moratorium to prevent any evictions during the coronavirus pandemic.
