He received 70,353 votes. In second place was independent Dan Hardy who received 43,427 votes. The result was announced this evening following counts in the Dorset Council and BCP areas. 28 per cent of people in the Dorset Council area turned out to vote in the Dorset PCC election. Bournemouth businessman Mr Sidwick will replace Martyn Underhill, the independent who had held the role since 2012, after he decided against standing for re-election. Second preference votes were required to to decide between Mr Sidwick and Mr Hardy after neither managed to secure 50% of the total first choices. Green Party candidate Clare Seymour came in third place, followed by Liberal Democrat Mark Robson and the Labour Party candidate Patrick Canavan.

There are really two ways to match up a rumored returning legend like Nick Diaz, who is now 37 years old and six years removed from professional competition. Diaz could be matched with a fellow veteran, man from his own era of similar age someone like Carlos Condit, Robbie Lawler, or even a fresh match up with no history.
Or, Diaz could be thrown to the sharks. Based on UFC attempting to match Diaz with Khamzat Chimaev, one of the fastest rising prospects on the roster, it’s clear the promotion is looking to build an up-and-comer of Diaz’s name.
The party is fielding seven former Armed Forces personnel to stand as crime tsars.
They include Giles Orpen-Smellie, who served with the Parachute Regiment and is standing in Norfolk; former Cavalry Regiment officer Mark Shelford who is seeking election in Avon and Somerset; and Chris Nelson, an ex-colonel with the Royal Artillery, who is standing in Gloucestershire.
Mr Shelford, 59, said his frontline experience in Afghanistan and Northern Ireland would help to police Bristol, the scene of recent Kill The Bill rioting.

Responsible for holding Dorset Police s chief constable, James Vaughan, to account the successful candidate will replace independent Martyn Underhill who has held the role since 2012. He has chosen not to stand for re-election. Police and crime commissioners are supposed to be the voice of the people within policing and set police priorities and the forces budgets. Five candidates have been put forward for the Dorset position at the May 6 election, they are:

Off the top of my head I’d put UFC 189, UFC 217, and UFC 236 above this past weekend. For those that need a refresher (which is totally understandable) 189 featured Conor McGregor winning his first UFC title, Robbie Lawler and Rory MacDonald putting on one of the five greatest fights of all time, and TWO flying knee KOs. UFC 217 had Georges St-Pierre dropping and then submitting Michael Bisping to win the middleweight title, T.J. Dillashaw nearly getting KOed and then coming back to stop Cody Garbrandt and reclaim the bantamweight strap, and Rose Namajunas upsetting Joanna Jedrzejczyk for the strawweight titl
