Library image of a ballot box. THE candidates for May’s elections have been confirmed with the publication of the statement of nominated persons by BCP Council. Alongside the election for Dorset’s police and crime commissioner, two council by-elections will also take place on May 6 to replace the two councillors who died last year. No vote will take place for the new Throop and Holdenhurst parish council with all of the seven candidates automatically elected due to the low number of nominees. Five people will contest the police and crime commissioner election to replace incumbent Martyn Underhill who has announced he will not seek re-election in order to retire.

Dan Hardy has given his thoughts on Eddie Alvarez’s controversial disqualification that took place at ONE on TNT 1 earlier this week.
Alvarez was hoping to take a big step towards challenging for ONE’s lightweight title in his return to the cage but instead, he endured a setback in the form of a disqualification loss to Iuri Lapicus.
The former UFC & Bellator star was given the DQ for hitting Lapicus with a string of supposedly illegal shots to the back of his head, although some fans have disputed the legitimacy of that claim.
During his own analysis of the fight, Dan Hardy gave his thoughts on the matter.

The whole Dan Hardy saga has been a real shit show from the get go. The man obviously cares passionately about the sport and imo is one of the best analysts in the game today. From the pieces of the story i v managed to put together along with a vague account from Dan himself it seems like he had an altercation with ref Herb Dean s wife and got fired for it. Now obviously i wasn t there so i can t say for certain what went down but it smells a bit like cancel culture to me.
Iv followed Dan s career both as a fighter and as part of the desk for years now and frequently watch his Full Reptile podcast. He just doesn t strike me as the type of bloke that goes around verbally abusing women for no reason. Yet he s after been let go from his well paying job without a reason or statement from the UFC detailing why.
