Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - No one is immune from the scam calls that have been generated in Juneau recently.
Even Juneau Police officers are receiving calls from someone purporting to be with the U. S. Marshals Office and telling them they are in trouble with the law and they better pay their fine right away.
Lieutenant Jeremy Weske says they are indiscriminate on who they call.
He and others with the department have received such calls. They spoof the phone numbers so it looks like it s coming from a local phone number. I don t even listen long enough to find out what I m in trouble for. I hang up.
