The arrests came just before 2 a.m. in the 2200 block of Trout Street in the Valley.
A police dispatch reports that Veronica Morgan Trapp and Jeremy Michael Olivit, both 30 years of age, were jailed at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.
The vehicle was recovered and returned to its owner.
Juneau Police Chief Ed Mercer Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - There was good news from Juneau Police Chief Ed Mercer while a guest on Action Line regarding the recruitment of officers.
He offered jobs to three people earlier this month. Two are local residents and another is from Texas. He said they are entry-level applicants and will attend the Public Safety Academy in Sitka.
So he said the department is only down five officers at this time.
And the chief had more good news about the staffing of his dispatch center. he said they are fully staffed there.
The department also hired a call taker and is looking for another.
It occurred at about 8 Thursday morning on James Boulevard in the Valley.
It was reported that a white Ford Expedition operated by a 31-year-old man was struck by an unknown vehicle that fled the scene.
The driver of the Expedition was transported to the hospital for evaluation of injuries he suffered.
The extent of his injuries was not known, but police say they do not appear to be life-threatening.

State capitals across the US are preparing for possible attacks on their legislatures in the coming days similar to the insurrection at the US Capitol last week, hoping a larger law enforcement presence and extra security measures will stave off the worst.
The FBI sent an internal memo on Sunday warning all 50 states that “armed protests” at their capitals are being planned by far-right extremists, potentially leading to a repeat of what happened January 6 in Washington, DC. As a result, state capitol buildings are on “high alert,” with local law enforcement and, in some cases, state National Guard troops mobilizing into action.
