Ohio Valley Bank debuts Canter’s Cave debit card
JACKSON, Ohio – On Friday, March 5, Ohio Valley Bank debuted the Canter’s Cave 4-H Camp debit card as part of its Community First debit card program. This new card design is now available at all Ohio Valley Bank locations.
Ohio Valley Bank checking account holders can choose to upgrade the look of their debit card to the Canter’s Cave card for $10, with $5 being donated back to the camp.
The card features beautiful fall foliage surrounding the camp’s Main Lodge. Sarah Lawrence, Canter’s Cave camp manager, described the card as a great way for people who love Canter’s Cave to continue supporting the camp.

Jackson, Mo. (KFVS) - 2020 was a quiet for formal dress shops because of COVID-19. This year they expect the music and the business to be flowing once again.
“It’s important for them to find that special dress,” said Sandy Schilling, owner of Weddings and Parties Complete.
Schilling said a shortage of dresses is not an issue, because there were no proms last year.
“We got all our prom dresses in last year before the virus started. So, when you look around at all these dresses that you see today, they are like brand new dresses,” said Schilling.
The Forsyth County Board of Education recently approved the appointment of five new principals who will assume leadership positions beginning in the 2021-22 school year.
Jackson BOE discusses Fulton Drive tunnel plan

JACKSON TWP. The Jackson Local School Board of Education on Feb. 23 approved sending a letter to the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) regarding the area where the Stark Parks Tunnel project is planned on Fulton Drive Northwest.
ODOT requested a letter from the Board of Education and the Jackson Township Board of Trustees with an assurance the plan for a tunnel under Fulton Drive, which will will provide a walkway between Jackson High School and Jackson North Park, is not being used for recreation or for wildlife or water fowl refuge.
Donald A. Pontti
Donald Alexander Pontti, aged 90, passed away in his sleep peacefully at home in Kodiak on Wednesday, February 24, 2021. Born in Ishpeming, Michigan, to Jarl Alexander and Martha Holma Pontti, Don attended Jackson High School and Jackson Junior College before enlisting in the U.S. Army, serving as a master sergeant (E-7) in the Korean War as a tank commander.
Upon discharge from the Army, Don continued taking college classes, working nights and weekends, playing independent football with the Jackson Lions, learning to fly, and purchasing his own Piper Cub. He attended Northern Michigan University, lettered in football and graduated with a B.S. in education, with a major in geography and minors in biology, English and history.
