Monadnock Ledger-Transcript Published: 3/10/2021 5:02:59 PM The Jaffrey-Rindge School Board added new restrictions to its public comment policy last week which forbid the current teachers’ union president – or any other person who does not live in Jaffrey or Rindge – from speaking at board meetings.  During its meeting on March 1, the board adopted changes to its School Board comments policy, restricting comments to those who live within the district, which excludes staff members who work in the schools but live outside of Jaffrey and Rindge. “As a school board, we are accountable to the residents, and we are accountable to the parents and guardians, and we’re very interested in their thoughts about the direction of our school system,” Vice-Chair Charlie Eicher said when asked about the staff members’ ability to comment.

Monadnock Ledger-Transcript Published: 3/9/2021 3:52:15 PM A Jaffrey man was arrested Monday night after allegedly leading a police chase through New Ipswich, Jaffrey and Rindge. Gavin Anderson, 27, of Jaffrey, was arrested by Rindge police Monday and charged with possession of marijuana, though Jaffrey police say they intend to bring further charges related to the chase.  Jaffrey received a be-on-the-lookout alert from New Ipswich for Anderson’s pickup truck Monday night and spotted as it passed their police department at about 11:26 p.m., Jaffrey Police Chief Todd Muilenberg said. Police followed the vehicle through Goodnow Street, Nutting Street and onto Peterborough Street, attempting to pull over the vehicle, but lights and sirens were ignored, Muilenberg said.

Monadnock Ledger-Transcript Published: 3/8/2021 4:49:29 PM There will be no charges filed in the December stabbing death of 23-year-old Jake Seaburg in Jaffrey, the state Attorney General’s office announced Sunday. Seaburg was killed in the early morning hours of Dec. 12, 2020 following a night of drinking and an argument over “COVID-19 fatalities,” the state reported.  “Based upon the investigation conducted into Jake Seaburg’s stabbing death, New Hampshire Deputy Attorney General Jane E. Young has determined that there is insufficient evidence to disprove the asserted claim of accident beyond a reasonable doubt,” the press release stated. According to the AG’s report, Seaburg died in a Jaffrey apartment on the morning of Dec. 12, 2020 after physically confronting one of the apartment’s tenants, Reilly Lawn, 23, following a night of drinking.
