A Cleveland woman, 44, was stopped in the Village Hall and police station parking lot around 2:45 a.m. on March 28, initially for going 56 in a 35-mph zone while traveling eastbound between Pepper Drive and Cannon Road, then attempting a U-turn in the area of Chagrin River Road, where she was stopped in the Village Hall and police station parking lot.
She told police she’d had one drink at the bar, apparently separate from the open Budweiser beer found in her car. She was also found to be driving on a suspended license and could provide no proof of insurance.

A Moreland Hills man, 63, was driving near the Pinecrest development around 7:40 p.m. on March 3 when he came upon two bags of luggage in the roadway near the University Hospitals Chagrin Highlands campus.
He brought the bags a larger one with mostly women’s clothing and a smaller one with men’s to the Orange police station, where officers reported that there were no immediately identifiable items found in either. Police did appear to be checking on a North Carolina man, 64, as one of the possible owners.

PEPPER PIKE, Ohio The Orange School District is off to a good start in its return to full-day, in-person learning, building principals told the Orange Board of Education Monday (March 8).
March 1 marked the first time since March of last year that the district has offered a full-day, in-person instructional model.
The district had been in a hybrid model since Jan. 11. Prior to that, it had been in a fully remote model for most of the school year.
The fully remote model, which has been available to all students since August, continues to be an option.
