Hazaribag: A ward boy working at Hazaribag Medical College and Hospital (HMCH) was arrested and four others detained by a special investigation team (SIT) formed by Hazaribag police for the alleged theft of 186 oxygen cylinders and 60 regulators from the government-run health facility on Tuesday.
Hazaribag SP Karthik S said HMCH deputy superintendent Dr Ajay Kumar Singh had lodged an FIR at sadar police station on May 16 informing about the missing cylinders and regulators. On May 17, police formed the SIT to probe the case. In the FIR, Singh named Surendra Yadav, the ward boy, as the culprit and said he sold 64 B-type cylinders for Rs 4,000 and some D-type cylinders for 18,000 each to different people.

Fire training programme at all Covid hospitals across Dhanbad Staff members undergo 2-hour mock drill to raise awareness about hazard amid surging cases across state
The staff members of Sahid Nirma Mahto Medical College and Hospital and Central Hospital of BCCL including nurses, ward boys, doctors, sanitation workers and administrative members underwent a two-hour fire mock drill on Monday.
The fire mock drill has been launched at the instruction of Dhanbad Deputy Commissioner Uma Shankar Singh. It will be conducted in all 30 Covid treatment facilities of the district including nine government and 21 private hospitals.
The training was conducted under the guidance of district fire officer Surendra Yadav. He explained the process of alarm operation, stopping central AC, isolating power supplies and evacuation of patients from the hospital in case of a fire emergency.
