At least 22 patients died on Wednesday due to the interrupted supply of oxygen at a civic hospital for COVID-19 patients in Nashik in Maharashtra following the leakage from an oxygen storage plant, district collector Suraj Mandhare said.

Twenty-two coronavirus patients in India, who were on ventilators, have died after an oxygen tanker leaked at their hospital, officials said.
The Indian broadcaster NDTV reported that they were killed on Wednesday at the Zakir Hussain Hospital in the city of Nashik, in the western Maharashtra province.
Two more people have died in the oxygen tanker leakage incident at Dr Zakir Hussain Hospital in Maharashtra s Nashik district on Wednesday taking the death toll to 24, informed Nashik Mayor Satish Kulkarni. Death toll rises to 24. There was no negligence by the Corporation. A high-level committee has been set up to probe the incident, said Kulkarni. Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope said that the situation is under control now. Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Minister Rajendra Shingane said, It is an unfortunate incident. We are trying to get a detailed report. We have ordered an enquiry as well. Anyone found responsible will not be spared.

Maharashtra- In a rather unfortunate and shocking incident from Nashik, an oxygen tank leaked outside a hospital which resulted in the death of 22 COVID-19 patients due to the non-availability of medical oxygen. As per reports, critical patients were unable to avail medical oxygen for half an hour due to the unfortunate leakage.
This incident occurred in the Zakir Hussain municipal hospital. The District Commissioner Suraj Mandhare confirmed the cases of fatalities by saying, As per current information, 22 people have died due to the interrupted supply of oxygen at the Zakir Hussain municipal hospital.
