On March 17, 2020, the HONOLULU Magazine team began working from home. One year later, I’m planning yet another quiet celebration at home with a Guinness (I go to Village Bottle Shop for cans and Murphy’s Bar and Grill for a freshly poured pint) and a local restaurant’s version of the classic corned beef and cabbage. Last year, Butcher & Bird had a corned beef sausage with pastrami and rye, 12th Ave Grill boasted a corned beef and lamb shepherd’s pie, Plumeria Beach House (pictured) had a three-course menu and M.A.C. 24/7 added green pancakes. The chain s new offerings immediately drew comparisons to Chick-fil-A s iconic chicken sandwich.
I tried McDonald s new crispy chicken sandwich and thought it was very similar to Chick-fil-A s.
The chicken sandwich wars are in full swing, and McDonald s is coming out with its own heavy hitters.
Immediately, fans and industry experts began to notice that the new offerings seemed very similar to Chick-fil-A s and Popeyes iconic chicken sandwiches. Insider s Kate Taylor previously reported on a leaked menu that revealed McDonald s plans to release a new chicken sandwich, saying that the chain was planning to take a page out of Chick-fil-A s playbook.

We tried three brands of frozen fish sticks: Gorton s, Mrs. Paul s, and Natural Sea.
Mrs. Paul s tasted the most like fish, and Natural Sea s looked the most appetizing.
However, Gorton s was the best of the three because it was cheap, ready quickly, and crunchy.
I ve had them before and like them, but I couldn t name a brand, so I decided to test out a few to see if I could choose a favorite.
And some weighed in to offer jokes, with one person referencing an iconic Mean Girls quote by saying the pink mac and cheese can only be eaten on Wednesdays.
I didn t know what to expect from candy mac and cheese

Like many people, I was skeptical over the Candy Kraft Mac & Cheese but also fascinated.
While Kraft s latest mash-up didn t have the same sugary appeal as, say, New York City s Cronut, I was curious to discover what kind of candy the flavor was modeled after.Would it be a surprising nod to fan-favorite treats like Starburst, known for its fruity taste, or maybe a dose of pure sugar like pixie sticks? The bright-pink color made me think it might even be similar to bubblegum.
