Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Rochester area continues to experience a major moisture deficit, but some areas of southern Minnesota saw their deficits largely erased by Saturday s storms.
It appears the heaviest rain fell in south-central Minnesota and in the far southeast corner of the state. The National Weather Service is reporting almost 3 inches of rain at La Crescent, 2.7 inches in Preston, and almost 2.4 inches in Lanesboro.
To the west and northwest of Rochester, estimates put the rainfall totals at around 4-inches in an area between Mankato and Waterville. The same estimates also show around 4 inches of rain fell in the Faribault and Northfield areas.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Members of the LGBTQ+ community and their allies plan to walk the sidewalks of the Acosta Bridge on Saturday morning carrying Pride flags.
The protest was originally planned when the state opted to tell JTA it could no longer use a rainbow light display in celebration of Pride Month on the bridge. But after the state reversed its position and said the display could continue for the rest of the week, organizers said they thought it was important to still make sure their voices were heard on Saturday.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – After planning to keep the Acosta Bridge lit up in rainbow colors throughout the week for Pride Month, the Jacksonville Transportation Authority on Tuesday said it was told by the Florida Department of Transportation that its color scheme was “out of compliance” with its existing permit, according to News 6 partner WJXT.
A statement from JTA’s spokesperson reads:
“This afternoon, the FDOT informed the JTA that our scheduled color scheme for the Acosta Bridge is out of compliance with our existing permit. The JTA will comply accordingly.”
