New Program To Help Parents With Kids Learning At Home

Updated: Monday, February 8, 2021 - 7:56am The nonprofit Arizona for Latino Leaders In Education, or ALL in Education, has launched a program that gives parents tools to support their children’s education during distance learning and beyond.  The organization’s executive director, Stephanie Parra, said the idea for the new Parent Educator Academy was born from parents’ frustration with distance learning. We want parents to feel equipped to be kind of like that at-home navigator with their student so we definitely want to meet the educational needs of our kids, of the students and the families that we are serving, she said.

Liberty High School had a lower graduation rate than Lodi Unified District s overall graduation rate at 72.2 percent, according to the California Department of Education. In comparison, Lodi Unified District had a graduation rate of 82.1 percent for the 2017-2018 school year. According to CDE data, graduation rates continue to indicate an increase in disproportional academic performance between white, Black, Latino, and English learner students. According to the National Centre for Education Statistics, in the 2017-2018 school year, of the 50 states where data was collected, students with disabilities were at the bottom of 4-year high school graduation rates by student group.
