A Navarre teenager has been charged with murder after authorities say a plot she and a friend hatched to steal a man s car turned deadly when the man defended himself and shot both of the teens, killing one of them.
Jennifer Elizabeth Marie Broxson, 18, was arrested last week and charged with second-degree felony murder in the Oct. 22, 2020, death of 16-year-old Allison Marie Dejaynes.
Broxson and Dejaynes were accomplices in a plot to carjack a man who they met online, Santa Rosa County Sheriff Bob Johnson said at a press conference Monday.
The teenagers arranged to meet the man in person and after he drove them to the Simmons River Fishing Pier off U.S. 90 in Milton, they attacked him with a stun gun, pepper spray and a hammer as they tried to steal his car, according to Broxson s arrest report. The man tried to fight off the teenagers with a fold-out baton from his glove box and when that failed, he pulled out a handgun and fired at them, the report states.

Walker was last seen by his family March 14 and was reported missing March 19. His remains were spotted March 28 in a wooded lot off Sandy Forest Road near Munson.
Forensic evidence and witness testimony indicated Walker s death occurred the morning after he first disappeared March 15, Santa Rosa County Sheriff Bob Johnson has previously said.
Earlier this month, authorities announced that arrests warrants had been issued for both McCullers and Isaac Cameron Daniels, 19, in connection to Walker s death.
Daniels has not been arrested and remained at-large Tuesday.
McCullers arrest report, which was highly redacted before it was released to the public, stated there was evidence to indicate Walker was killed in the same location where his body was found.
