Two teenagers attacked a man with a stun gun, a hammer and pepper spray during an attempted carjacking that resulted in the death of one of the teens, according to a newly released arrest report.
Jennifer Elizabeth Marie Broxson, 18, was arrested May 5 and charged with second-degree felony murder, aggravated battery, carjacking and obstructing justice.
A 16-year-old who authorities identified as her accomplice in the carjacking, Allison Marie Dejaynes, was shot by the man the teenagers were trying to rob. She later died at the hospital.
Santa Rosa County Sheriff Bob Johnson said at a press conference Monday that the case was complex — it was initially suspected as a "stand your ground" incident — and it took investigators months to determine what took place. Broxson was also injured in the shooting and had to recover before she could be booked into jail.
