Township Police received a call Wednesday afternoon that the child had wandered away from her home.
Michigan State Police, the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office, and the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community assisted in the search. Shortly after they were called out, Chocolay Police received a call from a neighbor about 0.3 miles from the home. He said the child was in his yard playing.
Officers reunited the toddler with her parents.

MARQUETTE A man was lodged in the Marquette County Jail following a single-vehicle crash at 4 p.m. Monday.
The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office reported that it was dispatched to a single-vehicle personal-injury accident on Silver Creek Road west of Sicotte Street in Sands Township. The vehicle involved was a 2005 Ford Explorer driven by a 56-year-old Marquette man.
The man was treated and released at the scene by UP Health System EMS.
The sheriff’s office said the man was traveling east on Silver Creek Road when he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into trees on the north side of the road.
