A CGI of the proposed Kingland House development off the George Roundabout in Poole COUNCILLORS will be asked to approve plans to build an 11-storey block of flats in the centre of Poole next week. Poole Property Investments has applied for permission to demolish and replace the buildings off the eastern edge of The George roundabout for more than 100 apartments and commercial space. And BCP Council’s planning committee has been recommended to approve the scheme ahead of its meeting next week to help make up its shortfall in new homes. The planning application was submitted in 2018 and originally proposed the construction of 225 flats on the site behind the Dolphin Shopping Centre.
PLANS to flatten conservatories and build an extension to provide more beds at a Poole nursing home have been refused. The proposals for Delph House Nursing Home, which included two two-storey extensions, were deemed to cause environmental harm that could not be outweighed by the benefits. The application sought permission to deliver an additional 11 care bedrooms and an extension of the laundry room at the site in Upper Golf Links Road, Broadstone. However, a report by planning officer Jon Maidman set out the reasons it was rejected. The economic, environmental and social benefits of this scheme are concluded to be insufficient to outweigh the extent of environmental harm caused by the significant increase in size of the existing building, said Mr Maidman s report.
