EL PASO, Texas Memorial Day 2020 left many stuck indoors as business restrictions were in place due to the outbreak of Covid-19. This year, with more and more American s getting vaccinated, Memorial Day weekend felt more like pre-pandemic times. It s been amazing. We opened up the first weekend in May and already then it was a bit busier than expected and ever since then it has been busy. I think people are just really excited to be able to come out here with their friends and family, said Chandra Edwards-Cottingham, president and owner of Wet N Wild.

EL PASO, Texas Summer is just around the corner and there s no better way to beat the heat than going for a dip in the water - whether it be Ascarte Lake, floating down the Rio Grande, or just in your backyard pool.
Getting back in the water comes with some reminders from the Drowning Prevention Coalition of El Paso on how to respect the water. The number one safety precaution for your kids is to get them swimming lessons. And to get those swimming lessons very early, specifically by the third grade, explained Chandra Edwards-Cottingham, co-owner of Wet N Wild Water World.
