FULTON COUNTY, Ga. - Northside Hospital System is seeing record high COVID-19 hospitalizations right now, and they’re not alone.
According to Georgia Department of Public Health - COVID-19 patients make up 27% of hospitalizations statewide.
Staff with Northside said COVID-19 patients make up 40% of their overall patient population.
Those hospitalizations have caused ER diversion in some healthcare facilities because they have so many patients coming in.
Because of the influx, Northside has run out of convalescent plasma to help treat current COVID-19 patients.

Immanuel Kant s racism will be taught alongside his philosophy after demand from students
His “racist remarks” will now be taught to students at the University of Warwick
Immanuel Kant
Immanuel Kant s “racism” will be taught alongside his philosophy after students demanded modules include a review of his ethnic opinions.
The 18th century Prussian philosopher is considered a giant of Western thought and his works are taught in schools and universities across the UK.
He laid the groundwork for theories of universal human rights, but has been accused of racism and pioneering ideas of white racial superiority.
His “racist remarks” will now be taught to students at the University of Warwick after a student-led racial equality group demanded modules be changed in the wake of Black Lives Matter protests.
Wisconsin company acquires former Russell Athletics Wetumpka complex
Updated Dec 15, 2020;
A 102 acre industrial building formerly home to Russell Athletic has been acquired by a Wisconsin-based commercial real estate firm.
Phoenix Investors of Milwaukee has acquired an 891,000 square foot Class A industrial facility on Elmore Road in Wetumpka for an undisclosed amount.
Russell Brands, which closed the Wetumpka plant in 2013, manufactured sports equipment and clothing. It was acquired by Fruit of the Loom in 2006. The building was constructed in the mid-90s and has 100 slots for trailer storage and adjacent land ready for expansion.
Phoenix Investors founder Frank P. Crivello said the company plans to make improvements to the building and enhance its energy efficiency. Cary Cox, executive director of Elmore County Economic Development Authority, said the “immense property fits a certain niche as most companies cannot utilize a building of this size.”
