Questions have been asked of the AFLâs medical sub rule after Carltonâs Jacob Weitering suffered a heavy head knock but remained on the field against Port Adelaide on Saturday night.
The defender took a strong contested mark against Charlie Dixon but made accidental contact with Power midfielder Ollie Winesâ shoulder on the way down.
Weitering appeared dazed but managed to take his kick following the heavy knock, even staying on the field for the remainder of the Bluesâ 28 point loss.
Kane Cornes told
AFL.com.auâs The Round So Far that it wasnât a good look that Weitering finished the game following the incident.

Carltonâs poor ball use cost them dearly in their 28-point loss to Port Adelaide at the MCG on Saturday night.
It was a harsh reality check for the Blues who were coming off two straight wins over Fremantle and Gold Coast with the Powerâs poise and execution the difference between the two clubs.
The 9.14 (68) to 15.6 (96) scoreline summed up the gulf in class and Port s efficiency forward of centre.
Kane Cornes says David Teagueâs side are âmiles off itâ in what has been an ordinary start to the season.
âTheyâre in the game to half-time, contested and clearance stuff is good,â Cornes told

Itâs fair to say that Richmond superstar Dustin Martin is unquestionably the No.1 player in the AFL.
But who ranks in at No.2? Kane Cornes says Western Bulldogs captain Marcus Bontempelli sits only behind Martin in the competitionâs player pecking order.
Bontempelli continued his sublime start to the season, collecting 33 disposals and booting three goals in the Bulldogsâ 62-point victory over Gold Coast on Saturday.
The 25-year-old celebrated his 150th match in style with a best afield display in the Dogs fifth straight win to start the year.
âThis is just men against boys sort of stuff,â Cornes told

Kane Cornes is expecting questions to continually be asked of Carltonâs Paddy Dow as time ticks on.
The No.3 pick in the 2017 draft has not quite hit the heights expected of him throughout his 46-game career to date.
Dow struggled in last weekendâs win over Gold Coast with just one kick and eight disposals total from 67% of game time, and has subsequently been omitted for Saturday nightâs clash with Port Adelaide.
The 21-year-old, who is averaging 12.5 touches a game in 2021, is often picked out as an example due to the fact he was a high draft selection and Cornes feels that will continue to be the case.
