Blue Jays Sweep Turtle Mountain in Conference Doubleheader

JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The Blue Jays softball team dominated in WDA play once again on Friday as Jamestown defeated Turtle Mountain 21-1 in both games. The offense was hot from the start for Jamestown as the Jays put up 11 runs in the first inning behind two RBIs from both Katie Trumbauer and Ella Roaldson. The senior Roaldson totaled five RBIs in game one and had a three run blast in the bottom of the second inning. Marin Rassmussen drove in two runs and went 2-for-3 with two walks and three runs scored in game one. Payton Gall went all five innings in the circle for Jamestown, striking out eight Bravettes and allowing just two hits. Gall had a perfect game going into the fourth inning before Kadence Grant recorded the first hit of the day for Turtle Mountain.

Blue Jays Blowout Williston in Doubleheader

JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown softball team opened up WDA play with an emphatic statement on Friday night as the Blue Jays topped Williston 12-2 and 31-1. Game one was close throughout as Jamestown held in 5-2 advantage going into the bottom of the fifth. In the fifth inning, the Blue Jays piled on seven runs to 10 run rule the Coyotes. Junior Alyssa Gange brought in two runs with a triple and the Jays capped off game one with a Jenna Fisher two-run blast. Katie Falk earned the win in the circle, throwing a complete game while allowing five hits and striking out seven total Williston batters. Addi Douty and Marin Rasmussen each went 1-2 in the first game, and Ella Roaldson scored three times and had a double.
