JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown softball team opened up WDA play with an emphatic statement on Friday night as the Blue Jays topped Williston 12-2 and 31-1.
Game one was close throughout as Jamestown held in 5-2 advantage going into the bottom of the fifth. In the fifth inning, the Blue Jays piled on seven runs to 10 run rule the Coyotes. Junior Alyssa Gange brought in two runs with a triple and the Jays capped off game one with a Jenna Fisher two-run blast.
Katie Falk earned the win in the circle, throwing a complete game while allowing five hits and striking out seven total Williston batters. Addi Douty and Marin Rasmussen each went 1-2 in the first game, and Ella Roaldson scored three times and had a double.
