Falk, Fischer Dominate As Jamestown Sweeps Minot

JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – A pitching duel in game one and an extra-inning walk-off in game two provided an exciting afternoon at Trapper Field as Jamestown beat Minot 2-0 and 8-6 (9 in.) on Saturday. Katie Falk pitched a complete game shutout in game one, striking out 11 Magician hitters and allowing just three hits. Jamestown capitalized off a first inning error by Minot that allowed Ella Roaldson to reach second base. Jenna Fischer doubled home Roaldson on the very next pitch to give the Jays a 1-0 advantage. Fischer would bring in another during the fourth with a single after Roaldson doubled to lead off the inning. Jamestown ended game one with seven hits and six runners left on base. Falk, Roaldson, and Fischer all went 2-for-3 in the first game.

Blue Jays Sweep Doubleheader at Legacy

BISMARCK, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown high school softball team stayed red hot on Tuesday night as they swept Bismarck Legacy winning 19-4 and 6-3. The Blue Jays led 5-0 going into the top of the fourth in game one before Jamestown exploded for 14 runs in the fourth inning. Jenna Fischer picked up three RBIs in the first game for the Jays and Katie Falk recorded two hits and brought in four runs all while earning the win in the circle. Falk now has a 5-1 record on the year for Jamestown. Game two was tied going into the fifth at two before Jamestown hung another crooked number on the board, scoring three more runs. Fischer had three more runs driven in during game two, and Addi Douty picked up two hits and drove in two runs. Marin Rasmussen got the win for Jamestown and also had one of the six hits for the Jays in game two.

VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Ella Roaldson’s two run double with two out in the seventh highlighted a three run rally for Jamestown as the Blue Jays downed Valley City 6-4 in game one of the doubleheader. The Blue Jays offense picked up in in the second game when they left off in the first game with a 19-3 win in four innings. Jamestown had 25 runs and 25 hits in the two games. Seven starter has hits in game one all nine starters reached base with seven getting hits in game two. Jamestown has won four in a row and are 7-3 on the season. Valley City has dropped three straight after winning their first three games of the year.

Blue Jays Blowout Williston in Doubleheader

JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown softball team opened up WDA play with an emphatic statement on Friday night as the Blue Jays topped Williston 12-2 and 31-1. Game one was close throughout as Jamestown held in 5-2 advantage going into the bottom of the fifth. In the fifth inning, the Blue Jays piled on seven runs to 10 run rule the Coyotes. Junior Alyssa Gange brought in two runs with a triple and the Jays capped off game one with a Jenna Fisher two-run blast. Katie Falk earned the win in the circle, throwing a complete game while allowing five hits and striking out seven total Williston batters. Addi Douty and Marin Rasmussen each went 1-2 in the first game, and Ella Roaldson scored three times and had a double.
