Nancy Flood-Golembeck: Messenger of joy
Nancy Flood-Golembeck
I remember, as a child, lying in bed, putting my fingers in my ears, squeezing my eyes shut and burrowing my face into the pillow in an attempt to find out what it was like to be dead. I don’t think I could imagine a state of non-being. I still can’t.
As I grew older and started attending Sunday School, I listened eagerly to stories about heaven. Then, when I embraced the Baha’i Faith at age 20, I was delighted to find much in the Baha’i Scriptures that addresses the immortality of the soul.

FAIRMONT Private graveside services for Helen L. Ring, 98, of Fairmont, Minn., will be held for close family at Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery in Fairmont. Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.
Helen Lenora Wokasch was born Dec. 20, 1921, the daughter of Thomas and Hilma Wokasch. She attended school in Fairmont. On April 19, 1944, she was united in marriage to Alvin Ring in Fairmont. They shared nearly 50 years together until Alvin passed on March 20, 1992, at the age of 78. They were blessed with two children. Helen enjoyed being a homemaker and mother, but she enjoyed being a grandmother even more. Pets were always important, and cats had a special place in her heart. “Come on in, the door is open, and the coffee pot is on.” Friends and family were always welcome at Mom’s house and a chair was waiting for you at the kitchen table. You knew you would be served the best coffee around. Thanks Mom.
