Aboriginal man dies in rural NSW after police tasering

An Aboriginal man has died in rural New South Wales after being tasered and pepper sprayed by police. New South Wales police have declared it a critical incident with homicide detectives from the state Crime Command investigating. In a statement, police said two officers were  were called to a home in Herbert Street Gunnedah in the state s north-east last night due to concerns about the behaviour of the man. Police will allege the man became aggressive when officers attempted to speak with him, it read. OC spray and a Taser were deployed during a struggle with the man before he lost consciousness.

Million-dollar reward announced for Sydney model missing for 26 years

Extra police on the way | Maribyrnong & Hobsons Bay

Goya Dmytryshchak Hobsons Bay, Maribyrnong and Wyndham will receive 44 extra police, it was announced on Monday. The area, known as Westgate Division, received the lion’s share for the regions under Victoria Police’s allocation of 396 police to be deployed across the state over the next 12 months. Maribyrnong and Hobsons Bay will each receive 11 officers, Wyndham will get 19 and the divisional highway patrol will get three. Dandenong Division, which includes Casey, Cardinia and Greater Dandenong will receive 38 officers. Knox Division, covering Yarra Ranges and Knox will receive 14 police, and Ballarat will receive 11 for the Pyreness and Moorabool areas. Specialist commands, such as transit and public safety and intelligence and covert support, have been allocated 167 police.

Man, 40, charged in relation to the attempted murder of Sydney gangster Samer Marcus

22:31 EDT, 5 May 2021 A man will appear in court charged with the attempted murder of notorious gangster Samer Marcus in Sydney s southwest last year. Samer Marcus, 45, was left in a critical condition after being shot in the head at close range on Campbelltown Road in Denham Court on November 6.  The senior member of the notorious Assyrian gang DLASTHR (The Last Hour) was rushed to Liverpool Hospital with severe injuries to his chest, face and back.   Criminal groups squad commander Detective Acting Superintendent Jayne Doherty told reporters at the time that Marcus was co-operating with police from hospital, The Australian reported.   His future quality of life will be severely impacted, the superintendent said.
