Settle comes to UK after working at running backs coach at Wisconsin since 2015.

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops has named John Settle the new running backs coach/co-special teams coordinator, he announced Monday. He will coach the special teams along with safeties coach Frank Buffano.
“When you look at John’s resume and the places he’s been, coming from a great program and his NFL experience, it was a no-brainer for me,” Stoops said. “John’s personality, background and work ethic made him attractive. He’s done a remarkable job at Wisconsin and everywhere else he’s been. With his experience, he also will help with the big picture and special teams.”

At some point in the next 24 to 48 hours, the Kansas football program is expected to at least have an interim head coach in place, even if that person ends up merely keeping the seat warm for a yet to be determined replacement for Les Miles.
As KU Athletic Director Jeff Long weighs his options for the present and future of the program, two current KU assistants seem to be the most obvious candidates for the job, either on an interim or permanent basis.

It’s the regular season finale for the Kentucky Wildcats as they take on the South Carolina Gamecocks in Rupp Arena.
It’s been a rough week as the Cats suffered losses from the Florida Gators and the Ole Miss Rebels. Both losses stung for different reasons. Florida is a tournament team but UK had a lead in the second half and they squandered it like they have most leads this season. The Ole Miss loss was just. bad. That one had a feeling of finality to it like no other game before it this season. The Cats have fought in every game this season but they, including coach John Calipari, looked as tired and frustrated as they had all season long.

After surviving a near upset by the Florida Gators, our Kentucky Lady Wildcats are moving on to the quarterfinals of the 2021 Southeastern Conference Tournament. In the second round Kentucky will face the fourth-seeded Georgia Bulldogs with tip-off set for 1:30 EDT today. As she has during her entire career at Kentucky, Rhyne Howard once again led the way to victory with 27 points. The last time Georgia and Kentucky met, the Lady Wildcats topped the Lady Bulldogs by a score of 62-58 on Feb. 25th.
