Lucknow, June 27 : The Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh has claimed to fulfil the Bharatiya Janata Party s pledge for agricultural development as well as promises made to the farmers in its Lok Kalyan Sankalp Patra, which was released during the last state Assembly elections in 2017.
According to a government spokesman, the Yogi Adityanath government s journey to develop agriculture and uplift farmers, began with the waiving off loans to the tune of a whopping Rs 36,000 crore of 86 lakh farmers.
The Union government is expecting an increase in demand from the farm sector and is making arrangements to supply seeds, fertilizers and pesticides in the required amounts.

New Delhi, June 9: As much as 60,000 hectares of Basmati agricultural land will be converted into a more productive one as the Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) administration has decided to provide good quality seeds at cheaper rates to around 7.5 lakh farmers in the Union Territory.
In a campaign to increase the productivity of Basmati agricultural land, the farmers of the region would be provided high quality seeds at a cost of Rs 16 crore and encouraged to switch over to organic farming.
