Mid-Hudson Valley arrests report: Dec 20, 2020

City of Kingston • DWI, unlicensed operation: Willie C. North, 36, of Kingston, was arrested by state police at Ulster at 1:34 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 20, in the city of Kingston and was charged with felony aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, along with misdemeanor charges of aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and drunken driving. He was released with tickets to appear in Kingston City Court. Rosendale • DWI: Jeffrey G. Burchell, 61, of Kingston, was arrested by state police at Ulster at 10:16 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, in the town of Rosendale and was charged with drunken driving and operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol level at or exceeding 0.08 percent, both misdemeanors. He was released with tickets to appear in Rosendale Town Court.

Three tried to mail drugs to Ulster County Jail, deputies say

KINGSTON, N.Y. — Three people have been arrested in connection with what authorities say was an attempt to send drugs through the mail to the Ulster County Jail. Diane J. Maiolo, 35, and Gary L. Hoffman, 30, of Kingston, as well as Jessica M. Henry, 36, of Ulster Park, were each arrested on misdemeanor charges of promoting prison contraband and conspiracy following an investigation by the Ulster County Sheriff s Office. Hoffman is an inmate.  - Advertisement - According to the Sheriff s Office, on Nov. 4, corrections officials found the painkiller suboxone secreted in mail sent to the jail.  Maiolo and Henry were released with appearance tickets for Kingston City Court. Hoffman remained in the Ulster County Jail on unrelated charges.

Town of Kingston •  Drugs: David Laurer, 51, of Mount Sinai, John M. Jarosz, 27, of Plain View, and John W. Swoboda, 55 of North Port, were arrested by state police at Wawarsing at 6:45 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13, in the town of Kingston and were all charged with one count of misdemeanor criminal possession of a controlled substance. They were released with tickets to appear in Kingston Town Court.  Lloyd •  DWI: Matthew S. Fowler, 32, of New Paltz, was arrested by state police at Highland at 10:10 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13, in the town of Lloyd and charged with drunken driving and operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content at or exceeding .08%, both misdemeanors. He was released with tickets to appear in Lloyd Town Court.
