Police Officer To Face Inquiry For ‘Unprofessional’ Investigation In UAPA Case
JAMMU: Additional Sessions Judge Jammu Sunit Gupta on Tuesday ordered a departmental inquiry against a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) Police for conducting investigation in a “very perfunctory and unprofessional manner” in a case related to ten alleged underground workers of Hizbul Mujahideen in Kishtwar district.

The Indian Express, who also hears NIA cases, “strongly recommended” initiation of a departmental inquiry against DySP Sunny Singh the investigating officer of the case.
He should be asked as to “why and under what circumstances, he had not collected the real evidence” against accused and “left out important aspects” of the case, Justice Gupta said, according to the court order.
SRINAGAR: A leopard who mauled a 4-year-old girl to death was spotted on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday inside the deputy commissioner’s office complex in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
Quoting sources news agency KNO reported that the leopard was spotted by locals and security forces inside DC office premises and they immediately called the wildlife officials.
Meanwhile, an official of the wildlife department said that a team of the department reached the spot within no time, however, they couldn’t locate the leopard after search it for at least four hours.
He said that the footprints of the leopard was the same as the one who was spotted at Ompora housing colony.
PAGD To Meet Today, Dr Farooq Abdullah To Head The Meet
SRINAGAR: In a major development, the Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration has resurfaced and is slated to meet later today at Vice President Mehbooba Mufti’s Fairview residence.
Sources privy to the development told Kashmir Life that the meeting is an outcome of a phone call from PAGD President Dr Farooq Abdullah to PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti.
“Dr Farooq Abdullah called her up to schedule a meeting of the PAGD which she accepted,” a senior leader said adding that all the PAGD constituent parties have been called for the meeting.
