RANCHI: Considering the deteriorating health condition of jailed RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, authorities decided to shift him to AIIMS, Delhi. He was taken to Delhi from Ranchi on a special flight on Saturday. He was accompanied by a team of doctors and family members, including wife Rabri Devi and son Tejaswi. As of now, he will be in Delhi for a month.
The decision to shift the 72-year-old was taken by an eight-member medical board on Friday. Tests confirmed that he is suffering from pneumonia. Lalu also has hypertension, diabetes, heart and kidney ailments. He had complained of breathing problems on Thursday, following which a Covid-19 test was done. The report came negative.

Former Chief Minister of Bihar Lalu Prasad Yadav has been admitted to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi after developing pneumonia, late on Saturday evening, officials told IANS.
The RJD chief is kept in the cardiac intensive care unit (CICU) of the hospital under the supervision of a team of doctors led by Dr Rakesh Yadav, professor of department of cardiology, the official added.

Jailed Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Yadav will be shifted to AIIMS in Delhi from Ranchi hospital as his condition deteriorated. Yadav is currently being treated for lung infection in Ranchi.
The decision was taken by the Board of doctors at the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences. He was granted permission to shift to Delhi the jail authorities.
