SPICER A benefit for Melissa Freiberg will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, May 1, at the American Legion in Spicer. Freewill donation meal, silent auction until 6:30 p.m., bake sale from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
She has had end-stage renal failure for 15 years. During this time she has been doing daily kidney dialysis. She is preparing to have a kidney transplant at New York University. She will be required to stay in New York for two month following her surgery at her own expense.

AIM rose sale
WILLMAR The annual Advocacy and Inclusion Matter rose sale will be taking orders through April 22. Drive-thru pickup will be from noon to 5 p.m. Thursday, May 20, at the former JCPenney entrance in the Uptown Willmar mall. Dozen roses are $20, half-dozen are $10, available in red or multi-colored. Kandiyohi County Commissioner Nissen faced serious battle with COVID-19, now on the road to recovery
Kandiyohi County Commissioner Rollie Nissen came down with a very serious case of COVID-19 in late November and is just now starting to feel more like himself. He ended up spending more than two weeks in the hospital and said it could have been a fatal case. He is the second county commissioner to have taken ill with COVID-19.
