Daily Times July 27, 2021 Katchi Abadi residents of I-11 were evicted from their mud houses in 2015 by the Capital Development Authority (CDA) with the help of law enforcement agencies. Some 25,000 residents became homeless and quite expectedly, had put up a strong resistance. Scholars-activists, Aasim Sajjad Akhtar and Ammar Rashid, were also a part of this movement. They even wrote a journal article on it, which has been recently published by the Third World Quarterly. The authors analysed dispossession and “financialisation” from their Islamabad experience. I am going to refer to this journal publication in today’s article and discuss a personal example of the bad property experience in the West.

801 Rural Revenue Centres inspected July 2, 2021 LAHORE: Revenue Department officials have completed inspection of 801 Rural Revenue Centres (RRC) across the province. According to sources, the 17 officials of Revenue Dept submitted reports of RRCs to Senior Member Board of Revenue Thursday. The officials checked all facilities and technical issues during their inspection. They found acute shortage of the staff which they mentioned in their reports. It was observed that clerks were operating the computers in the RRCs. The meeting of full board would be held on Friday (today) in which opinions of all officials would be sought. Man shoots wife, kills himself after family dispute National March 17, 2021 SUKKUR: A man shot dead his wife and later himself over a domestic dispute with his wife in Katchi Abadi near Had Jamrao Road, district Sanghar.Reports said Samina, w/o Aamir Bhatti, a serving soldier, went to the local police station to register a complaint against her husband after a quarrel over a domestic issue. Upon her arrival from the police station, the husband allegedly shot his wife dead and later he shot himself dead. The police shifted the bodies to a local hospital for medico-legal formalities, saying that the couple left a two-year-old girl, Ana Bibi, behind.
