Clemson Tied for Second after First Round of Collegiate Invitational at Country Club of Birmingham Clemson, S.C. Jacob Bridgeman fired a three-under-par 68 on Monday to lead fourth-ranked Clemson to a 291 team score and a tie for second place with Tennessee after the first round of the Collegiate Invitational @ Country Club of Birmingham. The 14-team tournament that includes seven of the top 25 teams in the nation, will run through Wednesday with the teams playing 18 holes per day. One of the top regular-season tournaments of the season, the field includes nine SEC teams, the first time this year Clemson has played in a tournament against SEC teams. The tournament was originally scheduled to be held at Shoal Creek Golf Club in Birmingham, but a tornado did considerable damage to the course and knocked down over 1,500 trees.

Arkansas Makes Final Trip of Regular-Season

Mike Cawood April 4, 2021 FAYETTEVILLE – Arkansas, ranked 21st nationally, will play in its final regular-season event – the Collegiate Invitational – April 5-7 at the Country Club of Birmingham (Ala.). The 15-team field features 14 of the nation’s top 50 programs. The tournament will have 10 SEC programs – including #29 Alabama, #21 Arkansas, #9 Auburn, #12 Georgia, Kentucky, #23 LSU, #39 Mississippi State, #48 Ole Miss, #19 Tennessee and #10 Vanderbilt. Also in the field are #4 Clemson, #22 North Florida, #34 UAB, #43 Virginia and #47 Charlotte. Julian Perico, whose lowest finish is 22nd this season including a win, is ranked 27th in the nation.  He leads the team with 80 birdies and eight eagles this season.
