Junior Lily Hirst posted a 4-under round of 68 at Tumble Creek Club on day one of the NCAA Cle Elum Regional, marking the second-lowest round by a Kansas golfer ever in NCAA Tournament play. The Jayhawks are in sixth place at +6 after an opening round of 294.
Maria José Marin has exploded onto the collegiate golf scene during her freshman season at Arkansas from setting a 54-hole record during her debut outing, to being ranked the No. 1 women's college golfer in the country. The 17-year-old Columbia native is somewhat of a golf prodigy.
For the third time in school history and second-consecutive year, the Kansas women’s golf team will compete in an NCAA Regional, May 6-8, at the Tumble Creek Club for the Cle Elum Regional in Washington.
