These Truths selected as art for the Duval County Courthouse | Jax Daily Record | Jacksonville Daily Record

The public art project in front of the Duval County Courthouse will comprise two sculptures entitled “These Truths.” Cultural Council of Greater Jacksonville officials, a member of the artist selection panel and a local poet who will contribute to the project unveiled the design, by artist Cliff Garten of Cliff Garten Design Studio in Venice, California, at a June 1 news conference in front of the Downtown structure. It will be illuminated at night.

Laurelwood Arboretum s Sculpture Trail Welcomes Pi in the Sky III

May 25, 2021 at 11:25 AM ‘Pi in the Sky III,’ a stainless steel sculpture that stands more than 17 feet high, has joined 11 other works of art on display at Laurelwood Arboretum. The monumental piece was created by Micajah Bienvenu, known for twisting and turning steel into glittering sculptures. His work combines technology with traditional, large-scale design and fabrication.  “With its emphasis on curves, lines and seams, my work has been described as 3-D abstract paintings,” Bienvenu said. Bienvenu studied sculpture at Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington and soon  became a celebrated  Pacific Northwest sculptor. He now lives in Vermont, where his contemporary sculptures are conceived in a 3D modeling program and fabricated in his studio.

Toledo s Cherry Street Corridor to be site of outdoor sculpture The Monroe News A new public artwork, Vessel by RDG: Dahlquest Art Studio, is being placed in Toledo s Cherry Street Corridor. The Arts Commission explained in its announcement that the installation began this week at the roundabout at Cherry Street and Manhattan Boulevard; construction is expected to be completed in May.  This is part of the Art in Public Places Program in the Toledo area; funded by Mercy Health and  managed by The Arts Commission on behalf of the City of Toledo’s One Percent for Art Program. Vessel is a 20-foot piece that is meant to be a vibrant beacon and landmark as travelers navigate the corridor. There will be luminous color glows from within, allowing views both day and night. The features and design hint at various aspects of Toledo s history and heritage.
