A new public artwork, Vessel by RDG: Dahlquest Art Studio, is being placed in Toledo s Cherry Street Corridor.
The Arts Commission explained in its announcement that the installation began this week at the roundabout at Cherry Street and Manhattan Boulevard; construction is expected to be completed in May.
This is part of the Art in Public Places Program in the Toledo area; funded by Mercy Health and managed by The Arts Commission on behalf of the City of Toledo’s One Percent for Art Program. Vessel is a 20-foot piece that is meant to be a vibrant beacon and landmark as travelers navigate the corridor. There will be luminous color glows from within, allowing views both day and night. The features and design hint at various aspects of Toledo s history and heritage.
