Doha: This year, Qatar National Day was celebrated at the Urdu Radio (FM 107) with a lot of pomp, show, and enthusiasm. The event began with live coverage of the National Day Parade from the Doha Corniche and coverage of Amir Cup final from the newly inaugurated Ahmed Bin Ali Stadium.
Urdu Radio also invited and hosted an array of dignitaries who attended the studio and were guests on live shows telecast throughout the evening.

Doha: Members of the Bosnian community, together with the Bosnian embassy representative, were introduced to Qatari history and heritage to celebrate the Qatar National Day.
Organised by Sheikha Ali Al Marri - Member of Youth Advisory Committee for the Minister of Culture & Sports - the delegations visited the Al Marri family farm, founded in 1970. It was an excellent opportunity for the delegation to learn more about Qatari culture and history. The Bosnians were also treated to traditional Qatari food and drinks.
Three stadiums to host Club World Cup matches in Qatar

Doha: Education City, Ahmad Bin Ali and Khalifa International stadiums will host the FIFA Club World Cup 2020 matches taking place in Qatar from February 1 to 11, 2021.
The Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium will stage the opening match between Qatari champions Al Duhail and Auckland City of New Zealand on February 1 at 20:30 local time (18:30 CET), and the final will be played at Education City Stadium on February 11 at 21:00 local time.
The Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium was inaugurated on December 18 – Qatar National Day – exactly two years before the country hosts the FIFA World Cup final, Education City Stadium was unveiled in June 2020, and Khalifa International reopened its doors in 2017. All three venues will host fixtures at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
College of Law at HBKU holds webinar on Qatar s democracy and constitution

Doha: To coincide with the celebration of Qatar National Day, the College of Law at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) recently presented an online colloquium Reflections on Democracy and the Constitution of Qatar.
Framing the first public discussion of this subject was the recent announcement by Amir H H Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, that the country will hold the first elections for its Shura Council (Advisory Council) in 2021, in accordance with the Permanent Constitution. The Shura Council is Qatar’s legislative body, also responsible for determining the general budget and providing a check on executive powers. The election of 30 of its 45 members is considered an important step toward the wider participation of the country’s citizenship in its legislative process.
