Vodafone Qatar offers Augmented Reality for National Day fireworks Tuesday 22 December 2020 | 10:42 CET | News Vodafone Qatar says visitors to Msheireb Downtown Doha (MDD) on Qatar National Day (QND) on 18 December were able to try out Augmented Reality (AR) powered by its 5G network. The Vodafone AR application was developed by Vodafone Qatar specifically for QND celebrations and it let users watch AR fireworks and a drone display above the skies of Msheireb. Its simple interface enabled users to take photos and videos of the show, share them on social media, and even participate by launching their own fireworks.

Doha: Nakilat has assumed the technical ship management and operations of the Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) Exquisite from Excelerate Technical Management (ETM) with effect from December 17, 2020. The FSRU is jointly owned by Nakilat and Excelerate Energy L.P. (Excelerate) through a joint venture established in 2018. This is the first FSRU to be managed in-house by Nakilat Shipping Qatar Limited (NSQL), bringing NSQL’s managed fleet to 27 vessels, comprising of 22 LNG, 4 LPG carriers and 1 FSRU.
The FSRU Exquisite has a cargo carrying capacity of 150,900 cubic meters and a peak regasification rate of 690 million cubic feet per day. To date, the vessel has received more than 330 cargos of LNG or approximately 21 MMt (million metric tons) since it started operations in 2015. The FSRU built in South Korea by Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering was delivered in 2009, and has been in service ever since.

Doha: Members of the Qatar Society for Rehabilitation of Special Needs (QSRSN) has celebrated the Qatar National Day expressing their love for Qatar.
They have also renewed the pledge and loyalty to the State of Qatar and Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. The National Day celebrations were organised at the QSRSN’s centres in accordance with the health and precautionary requirements to combat coronavirus.
Also gifts were presented to people with disabilities, and the celebrations varied between national anthems and popular heritage songs presented by members of the society’s centres.
With the spirit of national pride and unity at an all-time high as Qatar marked its National Day on December 18, the Mall of Qatar (MoQ) is offering a one-of-its-kind educational experience to visitors.

Qatar Flag Museum,’ showcasing the progression of the Qatari Flag from its birth up until its current state.
Located on the ground floor of MoQ, next to Pari Gallery, this fascinating museum features digital screens complemented by sound and visual effects to offer historical information.
The museum seeks to educate and entertain visitors about the history of the flag and the country it represents.
